Pats: Very sad. We're losing one.

This is unpleasant news ...

Pat S has been struggling with a brain tumor since Dec 09. She is losing the battle and is currently under hospice care, near her home in CO. She is unresponsive. The end is near.

It appears that the positions of CEO and Pres have been eliminated, so Darl must be looking for a new opportunity to bring innovation and direction to the industry. I'm guessing IBM would be very interested in recruiting him.

What other great opportunities might await Darl?

Ocston Moving to Facebook

Ning (which currently hosts www.ocston.com) is discontinuing its free hosting offering. So this incarnation of ocston will be ending shortly.

It seems the right thing to do is to move the connection to a Facebook group. Facebook has its share of issues, but it seems the likeliest place for all of us to stay connected (there is also a SCO alumni group already on LinkedIn).

Friends?

A note about "friends" on this "social" network -- if you want people to show up as your 'friends', you need to go their profile page and click "add as friend".

I notice that since I invited everyone, I'm friends with everybody, but that most people are only "friends" with me ...

Looking for a couple of ocston admins

One of the great things about hosting ocston on the ning network is I don't have to maintain (or not) any of the code. And another great thing which I'd like to exploit is that I don't need to be the only administrator -- I can promote others to admin privileges. There's not a whole heck of a lot of work involved, but it would be nice if there were a couple of other folks who could respond to any issues that come up.
